This weight variable enfolds the Immigrant recontact sample begun in this wave and also includes the 1997 Immigrant sample. Values are nonzero for sample members associated with either a 1999 core or 1999 Immigrant response family. No weight variable exists for analysis of the core or the Immigrant samples separately.

- I-l: Note that the weight variables are not comparable across waves. Three types of weights (core only, Latino only and combined core-Latino) were created for 1990 through 1995 because of the addition of the Latino sample. Beginning in 1993, weighting philosophy for recontacts changed. See Section I, Part 5 of the 1993, the 1990 and the 1992 documentation or the User Guide for further information and details. Weights were retroactively recalculated for all years in 1989.
