Early Release Data

Recently collected data are available in early release ZIP files below. ZIP files contain SAS data files and basic documentation. All data are subject to change during data processing. Final, edited data are released through the Data Center. If no early release files are listed below, all current data have been released in their final form.

2014  Child Development Supplement - Polygenic Score Files Release 1 Three CDS-2014 early release data files contains 27 polygenic scores separately for three ancestry groups: African, European, and other. Each file also includes three global genetic principal components, an indicator of the assigned ancestry group derived from the genetic principal components, and a race/ethnicity variable constructed using the PSID survey data. The files include a pair of ID variables that identifies CDS-2014 households and each individual’s roster position within their CDS-2014 household. These variables allow users to merge polygenic scores with data from CDS-2014 and PSID using the procedures described in the CDS-2014 User Guide to Genomic Data. The CDS-2014 polygenic files include a total of 2,513 observations. For more information about the CDS-2014 genomic data, please see the User Guide to Genomic Data. ZIP FILE    1.34 MB 12/06/21 2023  Transition into Adulthood Supplement Release 1 The TAS-2023 Early Release ZIP file contains a single SAS data set and a copy of the box-and-arrow questionnaire. The SAS file includes all public release data collected except for data about employment. These files are *preliminary* and observations and values may change before final and complete files are released later. The TAS-2023 Early Release records can be merged with data from prior waves of CDS, TAS, and Core PSID using variables describing the family ID, ID68, and person number, PN; these variables are available as TAS23ID68 and TAS23PN in TAS-2023. These TAS-2023 records can be merged with Core 2021 PSID using TAS23YRID21 and TAS23SN21. ZIP FILE    5.67 MB 08/02/24 2024  Child Development Supplement Release 1 An early release of the 2024 PSID Child Development Supplement (CDS-2024) is now available. The release includes selected information collected from questionnaires administered to the primary caregivers of eligible children aged 0-17 years who resided in PSID family units at the time of the 2023 Core interview, as well as selected information from the questionnaire administered to eligible children aged 12-17. CDS-2024 main data collection occurred between January 2024 and October 2024. The ZIP file contains 4 SAS datasets and related PDF documents. The CDS-2024 questionnaires are available in the Documentation section of the PSID website. The data files include information on 4078 children and 2305 caregivers. Other data, including additional constructed scales, CDS-2024 sampling weights, and remaining questionnaire content areas will be available in a future release along with full documentation of the study.
